The coming of Durga - the start of the annual festival of celebration of the Mother Goddess.
Unfortunately that charm is gone now.
The last time I actually went around watching the decorated Idols of Durga was in 2014. Since then, the charm of Durga Puja is gone.
Instead of joy, it brings sadness. The void deepens, sad memories come in.
And this year, there is no holiday for Puja, and I did not ask for one too.
Anyway, work up early to hear Mahalaya. With no radio at home, turned to the idiot box. Watched the decked up actresses dance as Durga. Did not find it interesting.
I find it better to listen to the recording of Mahalaya on Youtube.
