Uttam Supriya - Non romantic

Was watching Chowringee, the 1968 B/W Bangla film.

Uttam Kumar and Supriya were in the movie but not paired against each other. I can think of Baag Bandir Khela and Jodi Jantem, where the two are starring in the movie, but not paired against each other.

Any other movies like this?

Have Amitabh/ Jaya or Dharam/ Hema done movies where they were together , but not paired against each other? In Krodhi, Hema Malini just did a guest appearance, so not sure if that counts, and Andhaa Kanoon had Dharam as a truck driver (guest role).

Guddhi and Piya ka Ghar had Amitabh Bachhan and Jaya - both movies had Amitabh in Guest Appearance.

Uttam Supriya pair

Unlike Uttam Suchitra, Uttam Supriya were not always portrayed as a romantic pair in the movies they starred in.

I can clearly remember one - Bagh Bandir Khela. Uttam plays a negative role, and Supriya is sort of protagonist in the film.

Another one - I am watching now. Jadi Jantem. This is a thriller and stars Uttam, Supriya amd Soumitra. Seen the first half of the movie, now watching the second half.

There can never be another Uttam. Bad Acting, Good Acting - Uttam went beyond that. Mahanayak.

Supriya started off as a great actress. Meghe Dhaka Taara was something which showed her acting potential.

Somewhere, Supriya became a bit too melodramatic.

But what ever it was, this was the golden age of Bengali Cinema.
