Tuesday evening I saw some coconut in the fridge. Wanted to use that up somehow.
Did not have any prawns else a malaikari of prawns could have happened.
Had to think of something. Dad said - make something sweet, but the quantity of the coconut by itself was too little.
Opened the pantry cupboard to see what else could be used. Found a few raisins, 2 cups of oats and some jaggery.
I had all that I needed.
I dry roasted the oats, till the moisture was gone but the color of the oats had not changed. Took that off the flame. In the pot, added some water. When the water had heated up, I put in the jaggery and let it dissolve. Once that had happened, added the coconut and let the coconut absorb the jaggery.
When a sticky mixture had formed, added the oats, raisins, 2 crushed green cardamoms and then turned off the heat.
After a few minutes, while the mixture was still hot, formed some balls and let that cool.
Oats Coconut ladoos ready.
