Cooking Day

Had a busy day today.
Henna in hair, cooking away.

Urad Dal. This was the lentil with skin on. The split variety. Soaked that for sometime and cooked it. Some ginger. Tomatoes. Green pepper. And little salt.

It was missing coriander leaves. I planned to put it later.

So next. Elephant Yam. Or Suran as it is known in Hindi. Or Ol as we call it in Bengali.
Chopped vegetable and potato fried with ginger. Then spices. Turmeric. Chilly powder. Cumin Powder. And later tamarind extract.

By the time this was done, gas finished. So called the agency. And got my gas delivered in an hour.
In the meanwhile continued on induction.

Managing your cooking on an induction burner is different from the stove top cooking. Induction cooks faster. So ended up with some slightly charred stuff also.

After the vegetable, egg curry was made. On the induction. And when I was done with the eggs, gas had come.

On the gas, made some chole (garbanzo beans) and then later narkel bora (coconut fritters).

A big long stuff. Done cooking for the week.

From Monday I start work at 6AM, Wont get time during the week, so made the best use of the weekend.
