Burnt smells

I have a burnt smell stuck inside my microwave.
Once I had burnt popcorn, then once I had some dry rice which was charred.

I am sure there are no particles stuck anywhere.

I tried all the stuff possible. Soap Water, Baking Soda, Synthetic Vinegar. And also bought a cleaning solution.

No avail.

When I open the microwave, I am hit with this blast of burnt food smell.

Throwing the machine is not an option. Need some help.

Will try all the options again this weekend and see again. Maybe once is not enough.

The machine is heavy. Its an old one with all features - oven, grill, micro, combination - all the works. So I cant lift it, scrub it. It has to be where it is, and then has to be cleaned.

Need ideas.

  1. Take a bowl of water and add 1 tsp dish soap in it. Microwave this for 3 minutes. After that when the oven is still hot and steam is there, wipe the insides with a sponge. Keep the door open for 15 minutes and then spray some vinegar inside. And keep the door open for 5 min again. The odour should be gone forever.
